Summer News

Rather than attempting to explain my summer to you, I would rather just show you the pictures that I really feel defined it, and me as a human being really. Is this what you think it is? Well, if you think that this is a picture of me blowing some sweet bubbles at summer
camp, then this is what you think it is. I really really like bubbles, and this pipe actually happens to belong to Amanda Partlow, the amazing one. I'd have to say that this is one of my favorite pictures of me ever, not so much because I look particularly great (notice the unwashed hair, scrubby clothing and disgusting bug bite on my neck) but because I remember exactly what was happening when this was taken. We had just finished lunch, and it must have been a weekend because there were no kids there. It was one of the last sessions, and I remember thinking that eventually the kids would stop coming and I'd have to go home. It was a really shit moment, but then we went outside and Amanda, as is her custom, pulled out her bubble bag (for real, a bag full of bubbles and bubble toys that she carries around at all times) and we just chilled on the steps and blew bubbles for awhile. Sobasically the bubbles
saved the day again. Obviously this next one deserves some explanation, due to sheer awesomeness. We're clearly being a flower here, but you can't fully understand this unless you understand the two little boys to the left. They didn't hold still for a minute all summer, in fact as you can see, CJ is trying to do a headstand in the picture, and yet somehow by the lure of our counselor powers (and candy) we got them to be in the flower with us, because we're awesome, and really who wouldn't want to be in a flower with us? Clockwise, its me, Danielle, Claire, Amanda, Ben and CJ, some of my favorite people at camp, or life in general. This is just proof that kids are the most awesome people in the world. Seriously, we should all strive to be as cool as they are. If something as great as this moment happened to me every day, there would be no end to the happiness.
I could show you more, but there would be no point. This is what I did all summer. Hung out with kids, had a great time and then grudgingly went back to school.
